Homecoming 2006 - SAVE THE DATE!

The dates have been set! Mark your calendar for Friday, October 20 and Saturday the 21st, 2006 and reserve your hotel accommodations early!

The preparations have already begun for this year's Homecoming and it's sure to be the biggest and best one yet. This year there will be an alumni social event at the house on Friday evening to welcome alumni and their families back to Harrisonburg and give you an opportunity to meet the active chapter, exec, and alumni relations chair. This will be a semi-formal event for the actives with catered food and beverages so families are invited and encouraged to attend.

Friday night will also mark the unveiling of the newly remodeled Brother Room, which is currently underway and slated to be complete this summer, as well as the brief annual Alumni Chapter Meeting. Friday night after the social event will be the chapter’s annual homecoming party which I’m sure you all remember (or don’t remember, as the case may be).

Saturday there will be a football pre-game either at the house or at a location closer to Bridgeforth Stadium. Due to the newfound popularity of JMU football and the resulting difficulty in getting bulk tickets, everyone is on their own for the game itself. Make sure to buy your tickets early!!! Saturday evening will be more informal but will feature an un-official alumni happy hour gathering at a bar in Harrisonburg. Details for this event will be posted as the weekend approaches.

Directions to The House (From Northern VA)

1: Start from anywhere in Northern VA & sit in traffic for awhile 0.00001 miles
2: Take the I-66 W ramp towards FRONT ROYAL. 0.00 miles
3: Merge onto I-66 W. 59.19 miles
4: Take the I-81 S exit- exit number 1A- on the left towards ROANOKE. 0.98 miles
5: Merge onto I-81 S. 52.35 miles
6: Take the US-33 W exit- exit number 247B- towards HARRISONBURG. 0.25 miles
7:Merge onto US-33 W. and immediately get in one of the two left turn lanes. 1.40 miles
8: Make a left at the light (there is an Exxon Station on the corner).
9: Go straight through the next light where a Hardees and CVS Pharmacy are.
10: Keep going straight, you will pass through a few lights and go past Rockingham Memorial Hospital on your left.....make sure you are in the RIGHT lane.
11: Turn RIGHT at the next light onto South Main Street.
12: Immediately get into the left lane.
13: Where Main Street splits into two roads, make a left just behind the statue.
14: Make your first left on to Walnut Lane, the address is 660 Walnut Lane and it is the large brick and white house on the LEFT at the end of the street.

Directions to The House (From All Other Points)

1: Merge onto Interstate 81 (heading south or north, depending on where you are coming from)
2: Take the US-33 W exit- exit number 247B- towards HARRISONBURG. 0.25 miles
3: Merge onto US-33 W. and immediately get in one of the two left turn lanes. 1.40 miles
4: Make a left at the light (there is an Exxon Station on the corner).
