The Iota Delta Chapter of Sigma Nu was first colonized at JMU in 1972 by 13 members. We were then officially founded in 1974. There were 24 founding fathers and 4 new initiates that made up the Iota Delta Chapter, number 188. Since that time, the Iota Delta Chapter has grown into an extremely proud and active member of Sigma Nu and James Madison University. There have been over 600 brothers of Iota Delta who now live all over the country and are successful in many different fields.
Currently, the chapter has members involved in the many teams, clubs and organizations on the JMU campus. We are also highly involved in Greek leadership by holding positions on the Inter-Fraternity Council. In 2002, fraternity houses moved off the JMU campus. The Iota Delta Chapter seized this opportunity to establish a new home. The fraternity has relocated to a beautiful three-story brick house, conveniently located within walking distance of the JMU Quad.
